Privacy Policy
PartCraft is designed to help musicians practice without turning their practice room into a data source. This policy describes the first public release of the PartCraft iPhone and iPad app.
Data collection
PartCraft has no accounts, advertising identifiers, analytics SDKs, third-party trackers, or cloud storage for practice history. The optional Enhanced Recognition feature processes score pages only when you affirmatively choose it.
Microphone
Microphone access begins only when you choose live practice. Audio samples are analyzed in memory on your device to estimate pitch and volume. They are not recorded, retained, uploaded, or shared.
Camera, Photos, and Files
The app accesses the camera, a selected photo, or a selected MusicXML file only after you choose that action. Imported music, derived notes, and source pages are stored locally on your device by default.
Enhanced Recognition
If Enhanced Recognition is available in your build, PartCraft asks for confirmation before sending the selected score pages to PartCraft's recognition service on Hermod. The service rectifies the photographed page and uses a private Audiveris service to produce MusicXML. It also sends the selected page through OpenRouter to Google's Gemini model for two independent reviews of staff systems, bar numbers, and printed rest counts. These reviews are not used to invent note pitches. Every model request requires OpenRouter to use a zero-data-retention endpoint and disables provider data collection. OpenRouter and its selected model provider process the page only to complete that request.
PartCraft's recognition services use isolated temporary processing and delete the uploaded image, generated MusicXML, and recognition files automatically when the request finishes. PartCraft does not create a cloud score library, retain page images in a recognition database, or associate pages with a PartCraft account. Do not upload music you are not authorized to use.
Security and usage records
To protect Enhanced Recognition from automated abuse, PartCraft retains a pseudonymous App Attest key identifier, its certified public-key record, assertion counter, app-build information, and security timestamps. The key identifies an installation of PartCraft but is not associated with a name, email address, advertising identifier, or PartCraft account. Inactive App Attest records are deleted after 400 days. PartCraft retains the number of score pages that installation submitted only for the current day so it can enforce a daily limit. These records are used only for app functionality, authentication, fraud prevention, and security; they are not used for analytics, advertising, profiling, or tracking.
Practice history
Scores, durations, settings, and imported pieces are saved locally so the app can display progress. Deleting the app removes this local data. A future cloud-sync release will require an updated policy and separate disclosure.
Children
PartCraft does not ask children to provide a name, email address, phone number, account profile, or location. It does not provide accounts, messaging, behavioral advertising, or public profiles. Enhanced Recognition requires an affirmative choice for each upload and retains only the pseudonymous security and daily-limit records described above.
Contact
Questions or requests to delete server security records can be sent to privacy@partcraftmusic.com. Local data can be removed by deleting the app.
